Policies and Procedures

Attendance

Each state agency determines the amount of time students are able to miss. For self paced e-courses, you will be advised of this policy during the module lessons. For virtual classes, your instructor will explain this policy during class. If a student misses a certain amount of time during class, students will be required to retake the course.When logging in to livestream courses, students must use the same first and last name that was used when registering in order for attendance to be taken and credit to be given for the course.  Any students who are a distraction or engage in inappropriate behavior during the course will be removed without refund.Cameras must be turned on and you must be present for all required hours of the course in order to receive credit.  Per state requirements, students who are not following the camera rule and attendance policy must be removed from the course without refund.

Refunds
1. Livestream Class- Class deposits are non-refundable. Deposits will be added to the total cost of the course. If the full tuition is paid up front, tuition amount less the deposit can be refunded if requested up to 24 hours before the start of class. Students who do not show up for scheduled class forfeits the right to a refund.
2. Online Self-Paced Courses, Practice Exams, and Continuing Education Courses- No refunds will be given after purchase.
3. Book store items- All sales are final. If a book is damaged or defective, we will gladly replace the returned, unopened item with the same version within 7 days of purchase.

Discounts
Any student registering with a discount code must be pre-registered and paid in full at least 24 hours prior to the start of the class to receive the discount. No retroactive discounts will be given, and no discounts will be honored on the start date of the class. SouthShore School of Real Estate does not honor coupons or discount codes provided by other sources such as online discount sites.

Course Transfers
Students who wish to transfer from the self paced course to a livestream class may do so by paying a $50 transfer fee and any difference of tuition. All transfers must be approved by the school director. The time spent in either course can not be transferred.

Inclement Weather

SouthShore School of Real Estate will monitor storms and state of emergencies and make decisions regarding the cancellation of classes on a case by case basis.

Tuition
Tuition covers class fees and all included in the course description. Tuition must be paid in full prior to the start of any class.Tuition is valid for the specific program the student signed up for, and for a specific time period. Students who do not complete courses within the allotted time will be required to pay the current tuition, minus a prior student discount to continue. The following are the time-frames that tuition is valid:
Real Estate Sales and Broker Pre-license livestream courses: 2 years
Real Estate Sales and Broker pre-license online courses: 1 year

End of Course Exam Attempts
End of course exam attempts are regulated by the Florida Real Estate Commission (FREC). If a student fails the end of course exam, they must wait 30 days before being allowed to re-take. After those 30 days, if a student fails on the second attempt, the student must repeat and re-enroll in the course before being eligible to retest.

Recording Devices
Recording devices (including tape recorders, digital recorders, cell phone voice memo recorders, cameras, camera phones, video recorders, etc.) are not permitted to be used in class.QuestionsEach course is taught in a highly structured format. Our instructors have their own specific policy on questions and will go over them at the beginning of class.

Exam Review
Class exams are utilized as an evaluation to determine whether or not a student is qualified to proceed to the State examination. Class exams are not part of the learning process. 

Recruiting
Pursuant to FREC rule, recruiting for employment opportunities for any real estate brokerage firm must be accomplished outside the prescribed classroom instructional time. Noncompliance should be reported to the Commission.

Study Aids and Products
Throughout the course your instructor will mention different study aids and additional course offerings. These products and courses are optional. They are designed to assist you in your studying and enhance your professional knowledge. 

Disruptive Students
Instructors have the authority to dismiss any student that the instructor feels is disruptive an d or whose behavior may be detrimental to other students, at any time without a refund.
